Change a case status to “Processed": how it works and what it means
What does the “Processed” status mean?
The "Processed" status is used when the active investigation is complete. At this stage:
-
the case no longer requires qualification or analysis
-
the action plan has been defined and implemented
- only minor follow-up checks or adjustments may still be needed
This status is used to prepare for closure ("closed" status). Other case functionalities remain available, including the follow-up space for the reporting person and involved parties.
For example, a case manager can still send a message to the reporting person to inform them that the case will soon be closed.

What changes when a case status changes to “Processed”?
- The case status cannot be changed back to "In progress"
- The processing module may become read-only or remain editable, depending on your organisation’s settings.
- All other features remain available, including messaging system, tasks, case managers, and involved parties.
- The case is no longer counted as "In progress", the statistics more accurately show that reviewing is complete, even if the case is not closed yet.
- An email notification is automatically sent to all case managers with access to the case so they are informed of the status change.

A case manager changes the case status to "Processed". The case no longer appears as "In progress". The statistics now show that work on the case is complete, even if the case has not been closed yet. Other case managers with access to the case receive an email notification. The case can then be closed once the remaining administrative steps are complete.
